Who is eligible to access the TigerNet Online Services?
Princeton University undergraduate and graduate alumni are eligible to sign up for TigerNet Online Services. Current students, faculty and staff can also access certain portions of the site using their University NetID and password.
How do I register?
Alumni can register for TigerNet Online Services using a PIN/ID number. For security purposes, we use a randomly generated 10-digit PIN/ID. To obtain your PIN/ID, please e-mail the Help Desk and include the following authenticating information:
| |
- Date of Birth
- Full Legal Name (now and at time of enrollment)
- All Princeton academic data (grad year, degree and major)
- Full Home Address
|
Once the Help Desk receives this information and confirms your alumni status, they will send you your PIN/ID. Please note: It may take between 24-48 hours to receive your PIN/ID.
How do I log in for the first time?
Once you receive your PIN/ID, please go to the Registration page and follow the instructions as outlined. You will be prompted to select a UserID and password.
What are the character limits for my UserID and password?
The new UserID character limit is 25 (it used to be 8). Passwords must be a minimum of 6 characters.
What characters are allowed for my UserID and password?
You can use letters (a-z, A-Z) and numbers (0-9), but no special characters or spaces can be used.
Can I change my password and/or UserID?
Yes. To change your UserID or password, please go to the UserID/Password page. Please note: If you are currently using TigerNet E-mail Services, changing your UserID will change your alumni.princeton.edu e-mail address.
Can I use my TigerNet UserID and password to access other alumni-related Web sites?
Your TigerNet UserID and password can be used to access the following Web sites:
Please note: Class and regional association Web sites that are password-protected sections cannot be accessed with your TigerNet UserID and password. These sites are managed separately. To access these sites, please contact the site's webmaster.
What if I can't remember my password?
When you create your UserID and password, there is a Password Hint field. We encourage you to fill out this field. If at any time you forget your password, you can click on the Forgot my password link to look up your hint. If you still cannot remember your password, please contact the Help Desk. Because passwords are encrypted, they cannot send you your password but they will reset it and send you a new password. Once you receive your new password, we recommend you change your password to something more familiar and include a password hint.
What is the purpose of the "Remember Me" check box?
For security purposes, logged in sessions time out if you have not been active on the site for more than 15 minutes.
When you check the "Remember Me" box, you will be able to access the password-protected sections of the Alumni Association’s site for the remainder of the day until midnight EST. You will not be prompted to log into the system again during this time. When the “Remember Me” box is left unchecked, the system will require you to log back in if you have not been active on the site for more than 15 minutes.
I have tried to log in but I am repeatedly bounced back to the main TigerNet page!
If you are currently registered for TigerNet, please check the preferences of your browser and make sure it is set to accept cookies. If you are a student, faculty or staff member, be sure you are accessing the site from the Student/Staff/Faculty box and not the Registered Alumni box. If you continue to have difficulties, please contact the Help Desk.
Can I modify the main TigerNet page to only display information that I want?
You do have the ability to make some changes to the TigerNet main page. Once logged in, click on the Edit link under the TigerNet Services tab to configure your TigerNet page.
What is the purpose of the "Princeton Content" and the "All Content" buttons?
These buttons provide a quick way to modify the configuration of the main TigerNet page. The Princeton Only link will retain the "Find a Friend" and the "Princeton Links" boxes, but remove all other content from the page. The All Content link will place all available content onto the main TigerNet page.
