State House, Gaborone, Botswana, Sept. 30, 2007

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bill Rudell and his wife, Jacquie, were guests of the government of the Republic of Botswana at the 41st Anniversary of Independence celebrations held on September 30, 2007 in the capital city of Gaborone.  The president of Botswana, Hon. Festus G. Mogae, presented to Mr. Rudell the Presidential Order of Meritorious Service in recognition of his 37 years of service as Botswana's Honorary Consul in Los Angeles.  Mr. Rudell worked for 18 months in the Attorney General's Chambers both prior to and after Botswana's independence from Great Britain in 1966.
