From Forney/Davidson/Parsons/Dangel:
Jim Dangel and his son spent most of the lunch with Lloyd Axelrod '63
who was poaching a seat at one of our tables as there were none for '63.
He is quite a fan and attends all the H-P games in Cambridge. Dusty Reeder
and Dave Forney sat down just before we left to catch the kickoff.
With excellent passing, Harvard rolled over Princeton 27-10. Princeton
was completely outclassed by a better Harvard team. The tiger line could
not run-block. The defense allowed the Harvard quarterback a couple of
milleniums to find his open receivers and kept missing tackles by the
truckload. Harvard could have won 50-10, but they made a lot of silly
mistakes. We lost our first string quarterback Foran to a concussion late
in the first half and that ended the offense as he is the offense.
As we in Boston used to say before the last few years, "there is
always next year".
In addition to Dave & Liz, the Davidsons and Jim Dangel and son
Chris, Russ Tremaine and future son-in-law and grandson were at the lunch
and game, as were Dusty and Susan Reeder. The day was incredibly gorgeous,
even if the game was disappointing. And no Tiger! The dinner was a bit of
a fizzle in attendance terms, although the *five* of us who made it
had a very nice time. Jay Parsons, our class pilot, flew up to
Cambridge and joined Dave, Liz, Patrick & Diane for a delightful post
game dinner at Legal Seafoods.
