Football game vs. Yale.  Jadwin Gym before the game and Quad afterward. The cost of lunch in Jadwin is $10 per person, the game is $8, and the reception/dinner is $20 each. Classmates should advise me by October 8 if they're coming, number of guests, and number of tickets needed.

Chairman: Joe McGinity

Who Was There?

Vince & Lorraine Menna and guests from Doylestown, PA
Lewis Neisner & Beth Vanfossen

Harry & Kathy Tollerton

Report from McGinity:

"Dear Classmates,
I'm tempted to preface this report on Saturday's Yale game with something like - "Why do they always rain on our parade?" or "Into the valley of death rode the Tiger football team." Instead I'll just say that we lost on two scores in the last two minutes. And as Forrest Gump says, "That's all I have to say about that."

We had a vocal group in the stands and at Quad afterwards, as usual. (Len, names are below plus Jon Hlafter and Jim Cole.)  We learned that Vince Menna is the team physician for the local high school near Doylestown, and has them all healthy for the playoffs. Lew Neisner is resuming his active lifestyle, including teaching business at the U. of Maryland, after back surgery this summer. Jim Cole recently attended an radiology course in Boston, and continues his orthopedic surgery practice in Englewood, NJ. The "honeymooner" Davidsons enjoyed a cruise through the famed "inside passage" to Alaska this summer. Suzanne Kimball has just completed her first novel, and is looking for an agent/publisher.

Quad was alive with upbeat undergrads and a combo, and invited us to the "installation" ceremony of a new moosehead on the wall in the pool room. No one is quite sure what happened to the old one, and Scasserra insists that it was not taken in the dead of night by someone from Charter Club.

Cannon Club has been re-purchased from the University by a Cannon Alumnus, according to Menna. We look forward to convening a future '61 gathering in the green bar. And maybe skipping the football game."

Regards,
Joe

George Brakeley's button turned out to be false.

Joe & Maureen McGinity flash bright smiles before the game.

Brakeley hosts a client* who has become enamored of McGinity as well

Kathy & Harry Tollerton, who is ready for the stadium's bright sunshine

*"Tom Ryan, Vice President of Development at Assumption College in MA, father of Peter Ryan ’07. He is also Holy Cross ’76 and is his class’s class agent.  He has challenged us to beat them on participation rate.  McGinity and I committed ourselves on the spot; each of us will make a gift to HC’s annual giving if they beat us, and Tom will give to ours if we beat them (exact amounts to be determined)."  George.

If Ellen was taking the pictures, who is this lady hanging on to George?  [George, next time get that button up where the team can see it.]

Lewis Neisner & Beth Vanfossen enjoy dinner at Quad.

Pat and Diane Davidson have put the game behind them.  Great shirt, Pat!
