Dear Classmates,

I’ve learned over time to appreciate the true value of some of life’s greatest gifts—and a trust at Princeton is no exception!

There are many reasons—from finding a way to generate payments for your lifetime to making a meaningful gift at Princeton—to create a trust at Princeton. This time I’d like to highlight something that’s very important to me and all of Princeton’s trust donors.

One reason I have chosen a trust at Princeton is the University’s long record of successful money management through the selection of skilled managers who oversee the investment of the gift planning program.

Like me, many alumni are happy to part with some of their assets to create a trust because they know that it is in very good hands: They are confident that their own lifetime interest in their gifts—the payments they receive each quarter throughout their lives—is very well managed and that the principal in the gift will also grow so that they can create our own legacy on campus.

Princeton takes its role as fiduciary very seriously. The Office of Gift Planning sends regular, in-depth reports on investment performance, and organizes an annual meeting with the Treasurer. You can get a closer look at the investment and management of planned gifts at Princeton on the new gift planning web site at http://giving.prInceton.edu/gIftpIanning/investments . I invite you to download a copy of the latest Treasurer’s Report or Mid-Year Report.

And of course, I invite you to fill out the enclosed response card. The Office of Gift Planning staff is ready and waiting to help you explore many more reasons for creating a trust at Princeton.

Cordially
