Whitey Finch - 5/3/06 TENNIS
Tennis @ 10am on BOTH Friday (see below) and Saturday (the PU
tennis coaches should be out at the courts on Sat. am). I am thinking of
going down to the courts on Sat. morning @ 10 am also, and would be happy
to take along any of our classmates who want to hit a few. Meet at
HQ beer keg both days.

needs your name and handicap. Can I register by email? YES.

Joe McGinity - 4/20/06 - TENNIS
The outdoor Lenz Tennis Center courts will be open for first come, first
serve play. On Saturday, June 3rd the varsity coaches will have
refreshments and drinks available from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. They will
try to set up hitting opportunities for fellow alumni who are looking for
a game. So, let's decide when to get together for a game. I'm thinking
Friday morning might work - say 10 a.m.? They tell me we can use
Dillon Gym to change and shower. We can meet there at 10 and walk down
[see next paragraph] to
the courts, which are about a ten minute walk, past Baker Rink.
They're not taking reservations but there are supposed to be 32 courts.
I'll bring a can of balls.
Whitey Finch - 4/20/06
Joe, that sounds great!! In the past, we met at the beer tap at our
reunion site and carried one for the changeover. Also, since we are quite
a distance from the courts, we may be able to get a shuttle ride. I think
that there will be others (wives, guests, Cookie, Norton) who will want to
play and we can set-up matches for everyone and rotate after each set
(just a thought). Regards, Whitey
Whitey Finch - 10/17/05
I would like to organize tennis for the 45th reunion (I did this for the
40th and it was a success).
Joe McGinity - 8/17/05
If you're interested in fun and exercise, reunions offers lots of choices!
Princeton's tennis facilities are excellent, and court times are easily
arranged. Springdale Golf Club, along Alexander Road, hosts an alumni golf
tournament on Friday, with T-times usually at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., shotgun
start. The gym's squash and swimming facilities are open for our use, and
Lake Carnegie is perfect for walking or jogging. Outdoor Action offers
canoeing and kayaking on the lake, and an indoor rock climbing wall.
Saturday morning features the alumni swim meet, lacrosse game, soccer
games, squash matches, ultimate frisbee and rugby, not to mention the
faculty - alumni forums on many topics of interest, AA meetings and
religious services. And our own Jon Hlafter, Campus Architect, will
conduct walking tours of campus on Friday and Saturday. Details of all
these events and activities will be provided to registrants.
