We have planned an outstanding Mini-Reunion for you in historic Charleston, South Carolina on March 25-28, 2004 - the beginning of the "high season" here in the Low Country.
The Schedule of Events is enclosed. Our headquarters hotel is the Doubletree Guest Suites, where all who attend will be able to stay. We've reserved 30 rooms. The hotel is centrally located in the historic Charleston shopping district, and is within easy walking distance of some great restaurants, antique shops, historic homes, churches and many other attractions which make Charleston in the Spring such a memorable place to visit.
The planned events are described in the enclosure and include a grand banquet in one of Charleston's finest restaurants, cocktails in a private home, a tour of Middleton Plantation Gardens, which should be in full bloom, an oyster roast and barbecue, and of course, a boat trip across the scenic harbor to Fort Sumter. These will be supplemented with a wide list of optional activities, including golf, carriage rides, antiquing, or visits to our museums and aquarium - just to mention a few.
Since space is limited, we urge you to make your reservations early. Note that the best deal is the early bird rate (register before December 15, 2003 for $535 per person, exclusive of your room). Thereafter, rates go up, because Charleston is extremely popular in the spring, and hotel rooms become scarce.
Please fill out the enclosed reservation card and return it directly to Doubletree Guest Suites. We also need you to return your registration fee and choice of optional activities as soon as possible (by Dec 15 for the "deal") to Adventures in Charleston at the address shown on the registration form. We've received a lot interest, so respond early to be sure you don't miss this very special mini-reunion.
If you have any questions about any of this, please feel free to call, e-mail, fax, or snail mail. We are looking forward to seeing you in Charleston next spring, March 25-28, 2004.

HISTORIC CHARLESTON WALKING TOUR AND HOUSE MUSEUM TOUR

This excellent walking tour will acquaint/reacquaint you with Charleston's historical surroundings.  Lowcountry resident-guides with profile Charleston's legendary personalities, recount the impact of the wars and disasters and reveal her elegant details.  Some visual highlights include: The French Quarter * Churches and Graveyards * Secret Alley and Courtyards * Charleston's Oldest Church * The Harbor and her Forts * Rainbow Row * Charleston Architecture.

Enjoy a tour of The Edmonston-Alston House.  Featured in the A & E TV series, "America's Castles" the stately Edmondston-Alston House on Charleston's High Battery is one of the City's most splendid dwellings, a gracious example of the early nineteenth-century commitment to elegance, style, and comfort.

When Charles Edmondston of Scotland built his Regency-style home in 1825, he was at the height of his success as a Charleston merchant. This neoclassic house was one of the earliest constructed in the developing water-front location. Edmondston's home was a comfortable distance from the noise and confusion of the wharves and waterfront warehouses. From his piazza Edmondston could monitor the arrival and departure of ships carrying his cargoes.

FORT SUMTER TOUR AND HARBOR CRUISE WITH A BOXED LUNCH

SATURDAY, MARCH 27, 2004 (11:30-2:30pm)
