Happy Hours. There's the drinking, the chatting, the networking, the eyeing that hot somebody across the room. But how about this scene immersed in the sophistication of a museum. A chance to discuss something more stimulating than hot vacation spots, fashion or the latest episode of the L word. Join us for happy hour with a classy twist. Discover your favorite new martini is Mango. Be whisked away for a tour of the new exhibition Paradise Now?: Contemporary Art from the Pacific (playing at 7:00 pm). And maybe find yourself in a captivating discussion about the effects of colonialism on Pacific Island natives. Or maybe just drink your drink surrounded by great ambiance and talk about the same old things.
The Asia Society presents extraordinary exhibitions of traditional and contemporary Asian art, commissions original performances, and hosts tours by Asia's most renowned dancers, musicians, artists, actors, authors, and poets. The Society is also a premiere showcase for works by the growing number of Asian-American visual and performing artists. These cultural programs serve as one of the Society's more powerful tools for fostering cross-cultural understanding. The galleries will be open during our event and the museum will present two guided tours of the galleries, the first one beginning at 6:30pm.
The first 50 guests to check in with one of our hosts will receive sampler CDs
of the exciting debuts of Amici Forever and Casey Stratton, courtesy of
Fly-Life Music.
