As the old saying goes, "It isn't just what you know - it's who you know." Whether you're looking for a job, looking to promote your career, or just looking to meet new friends (or dates), you can't do it without the help of people you know. And while networking comes naturally to some people, most of us need help in learning how to do it effectively.

Here's a great chance to brush up on those essential skills. Out for Business, the gay and lesbian group of the Wharton School, is hosting a networking seminar on May 6. The seminar will be led by the Lee Hecht Harrison Group (www.lhh.com), a top career management firm, and will be open to Wharton alumni and, by special arrangement, to alumni of other Ivy League institutions. (An MBA is not required.) Non-alcoholic refreshments will be provided, and the networking can continue afterwards at a nearby bar for those who are interested.

Check back here for confirmation on details.

See you on the 6th - and don't forget your business cards!
