Come see the new exhibitions at Jersey City Museum, recognized by The
New York Times as one of the best American contemporary art museums in
the region. With every gallery and virtually every available wall space
and corner transformed, tropical landscapes, ceramic brides, murky
highway journeys, and utopia are all part of Jersey City Museum's
exciting new season. Exhibition highlights include: "Tropicalisms," a
group show on tropic themes featuring over forty artists; "Almost
There," featuring four large oil paintings on Astroturf by Jane Dickson;
and Jersey City Museum's "1x1 Series of Contemporary Art," featuring
"Loose Threads," the sexually playful needlepoint works by Orly Cogan,
and the wild ceramic brides of Rebecca Goyette.
For those wishing to arrive early on December 10 to Jersey City Museum,
take in the new museum series called "Context" at 2pm. "Context" on
December 10 is called "Joe Ahearn Tying The Ends Of The Earth Together,"
and the program will comprise several readings by writers, including
Ahearn, who explore our collective need for serenity in a world
compromised by techno-modernization.
Thanks to our hosts, Shawn Cowls of FFR/Princeton BTGALA and
Natasha of Yale GALA. We invite all of our Ivy League, Seven Sisters,
Stanford, NYU, Duke, UVA, Georgetown and Northwestern friends. Alumni,
