We are pleased to invite you to join us for a performance of The
Temperamentals, the critically-acclaimed new play by Jon Marans
beginning preview performances on February 18, 2010 and opening February
28th at New World Stages.
Thomas Jay Ryan (In the Next Room) and Michael Urie (Ugly Betty) lead the talented cast of The Temperamentals under Jonathan Silverstein's direction, following its sold out engagement this past summer.
"Temperamental" was code for "homosexual" in the early 1950's, part of a
secret language that gay men used to communicate. The Temperamentals
tells the story of two men - the communist Harry Hay and the Viennese
refugee and designer Rudi Gernreich - as they fall in love while
building the first gay rights organization in the pre-Stonewall United
States. Thomas Jay Ryan (In the Next Room) and Michael Urie (Ugly
Betty) lead the talented cast of The Temperamentals under Jonathan
Silverstein's direction, following its sold out engagement this past
summer.
The show has been described as: "Mad Men meets Milk." "Deft, wise,
exhilarating." "Surprisingly moving and engaging." Critics hailed The
Temperamentals as intelligent, political, witty, and most importantly,
entertaining. For more information on the show, visit
http://thetemperamentals.com/
Shawn Cowls will meet you with your tickets at the theater a half hour
before show time. Your tickets will be given to the box office 20
minutes prior to show time if you have not yet arrived. $10 of your
ticket purchase is a contribution to FFR/Princeton BTGALA.
FFR/Princeton BTGALA is hosting and we invite all of our Ivy League,
Seven Sisters, NYU, Stanford, Duke, UVA, Georgetown, Northwestern,
Amherst, USC & Emory friends. Alumni, faculty, staff, and students of
any age are welcome. Thanks to our host, Shawn Cowls of FFR/Princeton
BTGALA!
