PCOSA Alumni Schools Committee 2005-2006
Report. Lindianne writes: I humbly apologize for not having reported to you sooner. In 2006 I focused on organizing
Sustainable Tucson, a network of networks to facilitate Tucson's transition to a
sustainable city and economy. This job was so demanding that I neglected (among
other duties) to report to you the results of the work of the 2005-2006 PCOSA Alumni
Schools Committee. Here is that belated report:
In the first year of the Common Form, an extraordinary number of students from
southern Arizona applied to become members of the Class of 2010. PCOSA's Alumni Schools Committee stepped heroically into the breach!
Kathleen Bader 05, Tern Cast 76, Kirk Emerson 73, Fred Frelinghuysen 75, Jerry Goldberg 73, Laura Hollengreen
84, Ron Hummel 60, Bill Markus 47, Hugh Miller 79, Ron Morgan 63, Joel Nixon 50, David Reiley 91, Don Rollings 73, Nan Rollings 73, Matthew Rubach, Lindianne Sarno 76, Mary Slepian, MD 77, David Spiro'80 *55 and Ted Taubeneck 48 interviewed 37 students, 3 of whom were accepted. PCOSA receives the Penick Award. As a result of last year's work, Ted Taubeneck and
Lindianne Sarno received letters of invitation to attend the 2007 Alumni Day luncheon to receive the Penick Award, bestowed on PCOSA's Alumni Schools Committee by the
Princeton Alumni Council and Princeton Office of Admissions. The Penick Award, first
presented in 1987 by the Princeton Schools Committee (formerly the National Committee on Schools), recognizes outstanding Alumni Schools Committees for the
critical role they play in the identification and recruitment of top students for Princeton.
PCOSA Alumni Schools Committee 2006-2007 Progress to Date:
This year 28 students
applied to Princeton's Class of 2011 from Southern Arizona. One was accepted in
Princeton University's last round of early decisions. All early decision candidates were interviewed.
Alumni Schools Committee Needs You!
This year, many members of PCOSA's alumni schools committee have
tight work and travel schedules, so as of the writing of this report we have 28
applicants, seven interviews accomplished, seven more interviews assigned to
interviewers who indicated their schedules would free up in February, fourteen
additional interviews needed to achieve l00%. If you have ever interviewed for
the schools committee, or you are interested in undertaking this helpful,
enjoyable experience for the first time, CALL ME!
