How Does Reasoning Affect Judgment?

April 10, 2008, refreshments at 5:30pm, discussion at 6pm.

What is your risk tolerance? How does it influence your stock picks and other daily decisions in your life? How can others manipulate your preferences and judgments? Come find out as Princeton psychology Professor Danny Oppenheimer guides us through an engaging exploration of how our judgments can be influenced by irrelevant information and how people's tolerance for risk can be easily manipulated.  Not to be missed!  Professor Oppenheimer received is B.A. in psychology at Rice University in 2000, and his Ph.D. in psychology from Stanford in 2004.  Dr. Oppenheimer's primary area of research is human judgment and decision making strategies, with an emphasis on where those strategies break down and lead to poor decisions.  He currently holds a position at Princeton with a joint appointment in the department of psychology and the Woodrow Wilson School.
