September 9, 2008 – Harvard Business School of Philadelphia Resource Roundtable

ENTREPRENEURIAL RESOURCES

Based upon continued feedback and requests, the HBS Club of Philadelphia is pleased to announce its upcoming RR on entrepreneurial resources. During this meeting, the team will provide a high-level update on the Harvard Alumni Entrepreneurs (HAE), a shared interest

group of the Harvard Alumni Association, dedicated to the advancement of entrepreneurship and the ideals of leadership and learning. Since its beginnings as an electronic mailing list, the group has served as a meeting point for thousands of founders worldwide. HAE celebrates accomplished founders from all of Harvard's schools and catalyzes living legacies by facilitating the transfer of wisdom from one generation of successful leaders to the next. The group's programs include peer-to-peer exchanges, a lecture series, and more. Besides learning about this great organization, please join local executive, Ben Ryan, to hear his lessons gained as an entrepreneur. Mr. Ryan is a principal of Narbrook Development, a residential development and construction company specializing in urban infill properties, and an affiliated company of AMC Delancey Group, Inc. Mr. Ryan began his real estate development career as head of Strategic

Initiatives at Triple Canopy, a private security firm with extensive operations in Iraq and the Middle East. At Triple Canopy, he planned and developed a large secure housing compound in Baghdad. He has also served as Chief Operating Officer at Miller Investment Management, L.P. in Conshohocken, PA. Previously, Mr. Ryan served as a Navy SEAL officer for six years.

Mr. Ryan is active with the Urban Land Institute and is a member of the Social Enterprise Committee of the Harvard Business School Club of Philadelphia. He has been published in the Wall Street Journal and has appeared as a commentator on the Fox network. Finally, Mr. Ryan earned a BA in Biology in 1994 from Yale University, where he captained the lightweight crew, and received an MBA from Harvard Business School in 2003.

Our discussion will be held at 3 Radnor Corp Center, Suite 304, 100 Matsonford Road, Radnor, PA 19087 from 6-8PM on Tuesday, September 9th, 2008. Sign-in, networking and refreshments will be from 6:00-6:45 with our Program beginning promptly at 6:45 PM. Finally, in celebration of its upcoming 10th anniversary, HAE is planning a number of events, including a night of perpetual networking! On this evening of September 9th, Harvard alumni around the world will have a chance to see old friends, make new connections, and discover other programs and projects sponsored by Harvard Alumni Entrepreneurs. As such, the local HBS club will hold this RR on the same evening and forward pictures and a summary write-up to HAE's president, Betsy Campbell. So, we hope you can become part of this celebration!
