PAAWP Annual Dinner on October 13, 2003

The annual dinner was held at the Alcoa Building. The turn out for Paul O’Neill was wonderful and a good time was had by all. Much credit to Vickie Pisowicz ‘92 for lining up Paul O’Neill as speaker and organizing the event.

Photos are courtesy of Princeton Alum B.J. Ferguson. As you can see, the views from the venue were spectacular.

PAAWP 1st Annual Summer Picnic on August 16, 2003

Thanks to Mike Patterson for organizing the event and submitting this report.

The picnic turned out great! We had 25 RSVPs and 18 attendees (15 adults, 3 kids, not counting the Pattersons). Alums ranged from Ed Floyd *65 to two 2007s. Fun was had by all, including Sophie Lyon (P’2022?), who loved the playground and thought that the $.99 peach scented bubbles were the best investment PAAWP has ever made.

The menu consisted of fried chicken, vegetable lasagna, coleslaw, potato salad, fruit salad, a vegetable tray, watermelon, chips, pretzels, cookies, bottled water, several varieties of soda, plain rigatoni (for the 3 and under crowd), and beer (for the 21 and over crowd). We received positive feedback on the small size (everyone seemed to enjoy more in-depth conversation as opposed to general mingling and listening to a speaker) and the food.

Thanks to all who attended!

Wednesday, December 29, 2004 - Reception for Princeton Early Decision Admits, Class of 2009

Congratulations and welcome to the local students who successfully gained admission to Princeton during its Early Decision application process for the Class of 2009.

The PAAWP hosted these students, their families, 14 current undergraduates, and several alumni at a holiday lunch back in December.  Graduating seniors were recognized and new students were introduced at this annual luncheon.  Current students dispensed advice to the new ‘09ers.  Mike Manzo ’70, believing in the theory that you can’t emphasize it enough, passed out BEAT HARVARD buttons to all the students.

Our ASC interviewer corps had many new faces this year, representing over a third of the total interviewer pool.  Many thanks again to all who interviewed applicants - your efforts are much appreciated by both the Western PA Schools Committee and Princeton.
