Managing Your Career in a Down Economy
With featured speaker Paul Barber of the MBL Group, www.mblgroup.com
When: Tuesday, June 23, 2009, 5:30 p.m.
Where: Ater Wynne, LLP, 1331 NW Lovejoy, Suite 900, Portland
Net Nights foster connections among Princeton alumni by offering evenings consisting of (i) speakers focused on career-related topics and (ii) structured networking exercises. The evenings offer alumni opportunities to find business partners, to learn innovative ideas about careers, to establish contacts in an industry or organization, and/or to address other critical career issues.
At the Princeton Club of Oregon's first-ever Net Night, we are honored to have Paul Barber of the MBL Group join us to discuss how to manage your career in the current downturn, whether you are currently employed or actively looking for work.
All alumni are invited to attend.
Participants will have an opportunity to engage in structured mingling over beverages and hors d'oeuvres. If you would like to attend, RSVP to Lori Bauman '81, lib@aterwynne.com or 503-226-8646, by June 19, 2009. The event is FREE to alumni. $10 for guests.
Ater Wynne, LLP is in The Lovejoy Building in Portland's Pearl District, at the corner of NW 14th and NW Lovejoy. The Lovejoy is on the Portland Streetcar line, and pre-paid parking is available in the building's garage (entrance on 14th between Lovejoy and Marshall). Ample on-street parking is available.
Presented by the Princeton Club of Oregon Networking Committee: Lori Irish Bauman '81, Kristin Belz '84, Ben Ertischek '94, and Steve Garner '72.
2/25/2009: A group of fans in black and orange journeyed to Corvallis on February 21 to join even more fans in black and orange to watch the OSU Beavers defeat the Cal Bears. Coach CRAIG ROBINSON '83 was resplendent in black and orange as he coached the Beavs to victory.
Were it not for its two losses to OSU this year, Cal would have sole possession of first place in the PAC-10 right now. So it was truly a great win for Coach Robinson and the Beavs, who trailed by at least 11 at one point! And all for a team that was not expected to win a game in the PAC 10 this season.
Joining in the fun were: Sid Eaton '54, Gerry Lyman '68, Alan Rogers '82, Karen Zeller '82, Connie Wonham '83, Katherine Cleland '83, Kristin Belz '84 (and Hank!), Pam Birkel '84, Maggie Langlas (a women's basketball player) '00 (and John!), Mary Czarnecki '00, Charlie Bott '92 (and his two kids), Heather Duchow *03, John Schmitt *01 and Kira Hohensee '06, Scott Welfel '06, and Marv Monk and his son, father and brother of a current student at Princeton.
