Description:
David Dobkin, Dean of the Faculty, former Chair of the Computer Science
Department, and Phillip Y. Goldman '86 Professor in Computer Science,
will give a talk in Portland, Oregon on Wednesday, October 24th.
His talk is entitled: Sex, Money, and Rock and Roll: Information
Technology and Society. Dobkin writes,
"Three of the drivers of the web have been the porn industry, the
financial industry and the sharing and selling of digital music. As the
web becomes ubiquitous in our society, a number of policy and legal
issues arise that need to be resolved."
The event will be held in the Highland Room at McTarnahan's Taproom
(formerly Portland City Brewing) starting at 5:30. The price of the
dinner is $30 (cash or check) with a choice of grilled salmon,
grilled chicken or bbq ribs. A vegetarian option is also available.
A no host bar will be available as well. Our supportive alumni will
also have the option to pay dues for the Princeton Club of Oregon.
